I’m very prepared to be told how stupid this sounds…

Left my lunch on the table with my OH as I nipped to the toilet

Came back, ate my sandwich and then my OH said something about flies being about and I asked had one been near the food, he said yeah on my plate but he wafted it away.

But I’d already eaten the sandwich that OH said the fly had been on and he didn’t think it was a big deal.

I’ve now done the worst thing and googled, obviously toxoplasmosis etc came up and they can transfer to food. I’m sure the risk is small but I keep thinking about all the animal poo and carcasses one fly can go to then landed on my bloody sandwich which I ate!

Am I being ridiculous?? I guess not much I can do now

Question to ask yourself is have your ever had toxoplasmosis before?

Answer is likely to be no. Think about the amount of times you may have eaten anything that may have had a fly land on it!

Your risk is v v low.

Of all the ways to catch toxo, flies landing on your sandwich really isn't one of them.
Just make sure your meat is well done and don't eat cat poo!

That’s a very good point actually
