Hi guys :-)

Just FYI I started my pregnancy journey overweight at a BMI of 32!

I've been pretty good until I hit 22 weeks, now I can't stop snacking on all the sweet and salty snacks, literally like I can't control myself.
My doctor told me not to put more weight on so I know I'm being naughty --
I'm also enjoying all the sugary fruits too like mango, pineapple, melon, etc.

Did anyone have this & pile weight on? Did it affect birth / upcoming scans / GTT tests? Also any alternatives to snacking?

What's even worse im not even exercising as I just feel knackered all the time. Not good!

TY

Tbh you need to get it under control. GD often sets in later in pregnancy and going crazy on sweet stuff now could put you higher risk.
I was pretty hungry in the 2nd trimester but I'd gained a lot by 16 weeks already so hadto get it under control. I still have treats but my weight has barely moved since then and hoping to keep it that way with only 5wk to go. My booking BMI was 32, was only 26 a couple of years ago (tut tut).

Exercise... now this is a win win thing to add in. It really helps suppress appetite and can improve your energy levels so even if you really don't feel like doing it you need to push yourself to do some.
I walked in the gym today not really wanting to. Did my 1st set of barbell squats (just the bar) after having a month off with being unwell, I though that hurt my spd hips but I didn't call it a day. I worked up to 40kg and my hips feel better for it, I feel proud of myself for finding the motivation too. Will probably have a nap before the school run though lol.

Being heavier hasn't been an issue in previous pregnancies but gaining to excess in my 1st 2 put me more on the edge with tests etc. The less fat I gain the better, my last 2 I was 7lb heavier after birth than pre-pregnancy and stayed quite active. I wish I'd been better with the 1st 2 but you live and learn. This one is doing very well so far and it's better on my joints to keep my overall weight under control. My appetite did drop off when I hit the 3rd trimester though so I find it much easier to eat reasonably now.
