hello

came down to hosp as i couldn;t walk due to back pain and have been diagnosed with dvt.

Havn;t had the chance to do any research yet but does anyonne have any exp to share?

only 23 weeks so the thought of having to self inject for the next 2 weeks is not good but my concern is my planned home birth - does this put an end to that?

thanks

Sorry, I don't know anything about this. Hopefully a wise one will be along soon to help.

In the meantime (to make you feel like you are doing something constructive!) make a list of questions you would like to ask your consultant.

Have you read this from the Homebirth site?

You can always have a homebirth even if you are advised against it, it remains your choice.

hi Scruffy - Need to speak to your Docs, but Im certain they will advise aainst HB, as you will now be classed as high risk.

Lets face it, most of the time they dont need much of an excuse anyway!

I doubt a home birth is a sensible idea now. the injections you're on will thin your blood and make you more likely to bleed. childbirth involves some blood loss, which could be larger when on heparin. you don't want to bleed to death, do you??

sorry to scare you, but home births are not advised in certain conditions and this must be one of them!

the important thing is for a healthy mum and baby at the end of the day.

COI - I really wanted a natural non interventional birth, both times, and ended up with 2 emergency sections. but I may have died without them.
