Do you sleep on your left?

I’m 27 weeks and have been lying on my side to sleep since the first trimester. I decided to get into the habit early as I’m naturally a front sleeper and I am finding it a bit easier now.

I have a pregnancy pillow but I do get pain in my hip on the lower side, so I have to regularly switch sides throughout the night.

Is this safe?

I know the advice says to sleep on your left side but it would be unbearable for me…

First pregnancy yes, second pregnancy no. I go to sleep in whatever position I can get comfortable in.

I try, with the help of an enormous pregnancy pillow, to go to sleep on my left side. I’m pretty sure I flip over to my back within seconds of falling asleep. It’s just not a natural position for me!

Currently 33w with DC3 and I sleep however I can. I asked my OB about it recently and he basically said if I'm in a position that is 'wrong', then I will naturally wake up or move instinctively in my sleep, so not to give it a second thought.

FWIW I normally wake up flat on my back, snoring and dribbling.

If you weren't 33 weeks pregnant PrimeraVez I'd think you were my DH!
