When should you start to worry about swelling? 🤔

I’m 36+2 and the past few days my feet/legs and hands have been so much more swollen, even from first thing in the morning. Is that normal? 🤔💙

Get it checked asap, better to rule it out.

Cakelaur · 12/07/2021 10:59

It's always the first sign for me

Garman · 12/07/2021 11:21

The only way to know is to have blood pressure and urine checked.

Whatshouldicallme · 12/07/2021 13:15

Please get it checked. It might be nothing to worry about but a consultant actually used that (swelling that doesn't go away overnight) as an example for me of when to contact them ASAP.

I haven’t been swollen at all the whole way through and had noticed I was struggling to get my rings off the other day (they’re usually too big). I’m almost 36 weeks. I think it was the heat though, they’ve been fine again since

It's a tough one as the heat causes a lot of water retention too. Some swelling is perfectly normal, extreme or any facial swelling is a red flag.
Better to ask the midwife just in case

MartyHart · 12/07/2021 15:49

Just get yourself checked. No one will think you are wasting their time.
