Can ovulation tests detect pregnancy?

Ok so I've read that ovulation tests can detect pregnancy.
Am due my AF 5/6 days and I've been using ovulation tests and have had faints lines but this morning I had a strong line.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Hcg can be picked up by these, yes. But you can also get oh surges soon before at is due. They are not replacements for pregnancy tests.

Im on another thread and 2 ladies done this and a pregnancy test the nxt day and where infect pregnant so yes I would do a test.

I did try a Clear Blue ovulation test after i got my BFP to see if the theory worked and it did!
But, from what I have read, ovulation tests can pick up a rise in hormones just before AF is due so not reliable to detect pregnancy.
I would just do a proper pregnancy test to make sure.

Yes. I did one and the line was so dark. I thought it odd as it wasn't the right time to be ovulating. It turns out I was 8 weeks pregnant.

I wasn't pregnant love think it was a doggy batch because everyone of them said I was ovulating whenever I wasn't x
