Hey, first time mum so please don't come at me for this. I'm 37+1 and for 2 days I've had tightenings and this morning an increase in pain with them (not unbearable though) some nausea is this things kicking off? I have no idea what to look out for as everyone just keeps telling me 'I'll know' 🤣

Also a first time mum and I don't really know if I'll know either! No advice sorry, just wanted to bump this thread for you!

It could be but could also not be. This happened to me and I had a midwife appointment later that day and was prepared to be told I was in the early stages of Labour. I wasn’t dilated at all! Everything was normal that evening. But he did arrive 4 days later.

When the tightenings are properly in sync with the pain then it could well be proper contractions. Not mega urgent but worth calling your midwife or maternity ward for advice. Best of luck.

Could be but it could also be baby moving into the correct position. 80% of first babies however, are overdue.

If it makes you feel better, I'm on my second now and I still don't know what it feels like (31+5 right now), my first took so long (finally gave birth at 42+1), apparently I was have minor contractions for 4 days while in hospital and couldn't feel a thing, didn't really feel anything until they gave me the hormone drip to force labour along.
I'll be honest, I'm bricking it now.
