Dating scan shows im 5 weeks or miscarried

Hi all, just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?

I went for my dating scan yesterday at what we believed was 13+2 weeks. When ultrasound was done they could see the sac and a yolk but no actually embryo/fetus (not sure what its called at this stage). So they have said either the pregnancy is not progressing and will result in miscarriage, or its much earlier than we thought.

I then had an internal scan and it showed 2 yolks...so possible twins.

I have to go back in a week to check for growth but i hate this feeling of being in limbo.

I am prepared for the worst but just wondered if anyone had a similar experience. Its my first pregnancy so i have no idea what to expect if i do miscarry and i have to admit im scared.

The waiting is awful isn't it. I know people who've had both, dates were wrong and the babies were fine but also ones where it is an MC.

Did you notice a change in your symptoms? E.g suddenly disappear?

Just from your OP, if your dates are about right from a pregnancy test etc, it looks like you've had a missed miscarriage. Where the pregnancy doesn't get past the very early stages, but your body doesn't recognise this, so doesn't miscarry naturally.

I had little symptoms to begin with to be honest, just extremely tired and sore boobs. Now i think my boobs arent half as sore as usual...

Thats exactly what the man that did my scans said, it is awful but im optimistic that i can try again. Trying to keep a brave face, had a cry yesterday but im ready for whatever the outcome is now. So sorry to hear you've just suffered this, wishing you luck for the next time
