Sertraline antidepressants during pregnancy

Hi there :)
I’ve just found out that I’m (unexpectedly) expecting baby number 2. I’m taking the highest dose of sertraline 200mg due to problems following my last pregnancy. I’ve just been googling the potential implications of taking sertraline during pregnancy Confused I know the advice is not to stop taking it, but I can’t help but worry. Anyone had a similar experience? Thanks so much

Hi, sertraline is one of the safest antidepressants to take in pregnancy, but no medication is completely risk free. It might be worthwhile speaking with a mental health specialist, either through your local community mental health team or a perinatal mental health team, as they could review your care and make sure you're getting the support you need to stay well while minimising the risks. Your GP can refer you if you ask.
