Advice about movements

I’m 22 weeks and 1 day first baby and anterior placenta. Started feeling strong flutters about a week ago. How long would it be until I should be feeling stronger kicks and when should I be worried about more or less movement because at the moment he hasn’t really got a pattern. It’s all very new and making me a bit anxious wondering if I’m feeling enough movements and it’s still all quite new. Had a MMC last year early on and the whole pregnancy so far is making me anxious

I think they say movements should be in a regular pattern by 28weeks. Before that (and especially with an anterior placenta) the baby is small so can hide in places you can't feel it!

I'm 27 weeks and still don't feel any regular pattern although he kicks away loads throughout the day. Movements just got gradually stronger from 18 weeks on for me, so gradual I'll hardly noticed they were getting stronger. It was 24 weeks before my husband was able to start feeling kicks from the outside.

Early on I only noticed them in the bath or when I lay down in bed at night. I used to not feel him all day at work. It was until his kicks were big enough to move on the outside that he got into more of a pattern and I’d feel him more during the day. I still don’t feel him when I’m walking about etc at 35 weeks. I had a midwife appointment at 22 weeks and said he didn’t really have a pattern. Itl be another few weeks probably but figure out what sets baby off (bath, cold drink etc) then you’ll be able to get them to move to reassure you

Maternity assessment will not have you in for reduced movements before 24wk as baby is still small and able to hide away.

My placenta was anterior early on. I could feel movements from 12wk as 6th baby, dh could feel kicks on the outside at 21+5wk.
I had a growth scan at 31+6wk and the placenta had moved to the fundal position. I feel and see lots of movement on the outside, 34+3wk now.

I'm currently 33+2 with an anterior placenta and I still don't feel much movement, let alone a pattern.
Kicks have gotten stronger but there's no rhyme or reason so I definitely understand the anxiety. You are early days still so hang in there!

Thanks everyone for a bit of reassurance. It’s just tough to not worry. I can’t wait until he really kicks and i will be more reassured then
