Pregnant with no 3 alone

I’m newly pregnant with my third but it looks like I’ll be doing it alone..

Is there anyone else in this quite daunting situation, or have been previously?

Finances are a worry as I’m self employed. I don’t know where to start as I’ve always been employed with my previous two.

Ty for reading

Where is the dad

JudithK79 · 08/07/2021 23:02

He has walked out. It’s a new relationship.
He’s probably at work at the moment. We don’t live together.

Aw im just a first time Mam with my partner but I can imagine how scary it must be going through it alone. Will he still be involved in terms of scans etc or has he walked out because he doesn't want to be involved? He should still be there for support really if he is anything of a man, even if you aren't romantically together. I hope you have family and friends around you that can help also, my early days where such a struggle mentally with HG!
but as for self employed- I am too! And I only get the minimum maternity allowance from government which is 150£ a week! It's shocking!! But my partner makes a good wage so if your single you should get more help with rent etc?

Congratulations Rach, it’s a beautiful time in a woman’s life. I really hope everything goes well for you and your little family.
I don’t think he will come to the scans. I’m not sure what I have done wrong but I guess when someone tells you who they are you should listen.
I feel like a robot.. going through the motions.
I think I am around 8 weeks.
Even with the circumstances, I really am truly excited, happy and grateful to have another child.

Do you want to continue with the pregnancy?

How old are the first two?
What do you do self employment wise? (Could you hire staff? Is it physical work? Could you realistically take a short ML and manage work with a nanny or similar?)

JudithK79 · 08/07/2021 23:41

Yes I do want to continue. I have had a termination in the past and although it hasn’t affected me emotionally, it’s not something I want to do again.
My children are 7 and 10. They are wonderful, well balanced kids. I don’t think, knowing them as their mother, that they would be negatively impacted emotionally with a new sibling. Which is a blessing for me as they are everything.
I am a cleaner so I will have to stop working and pick up work when the baby is ready to take that first big step to nursery.
I very gratefully receive UC - would I receive more help with three children or will I try and make it work with existing allowance?
I own my own home with small mortgage.
I’m feeling really worried about how to juggle three childcares, extra curricular clubs and is my little car big enough. Lots of little big things.
I’m parentless and an only child but have two good solid best friends.
It can feel a lonely world at times.

I'm sorry your going through this, I know it's scary but you will be okay.
I've only ever done it alone so I don't know the difference from having a partner with you but you already have 2 kids so you know what you are doing and know that you are capable of being a good mum.
I'm used to it now and it's not always easy but it's always worth it.
I hope you have a good support system around you.
Congratulations Thanks

Just so you know you are barely entitled to any universal credit when your own your own home with a mortgage so please do t factor that in
