I’m 37 just found out I’m pregnant with my third. My eldest is 17 and my youngest is 10, I’m absolutely petrified, this will be my third c section aswell. I’m so worried about miscarriage and the complications that may come with another c sectionAnyone in similar situation?

I'm 36 and pregnant with my second. My first is 15 so there is a huge age gap. I must admit I am highly anxious (I can't remember being this bad the first time around) but age is just a number xx

My mum was pregnant with me when she was 37 and my sibling was 10. I turned out great! She said I kept her young 😁

I had my 3rd at 37 (after a big gap) and was anxious, but honestly she's the light of our world. After the nerves of pregnancy and birth, she is the easiest, happiest child. This could also be a reflection of our much more relaxed approach to parenting this time round. She's 8 now, I'm probably the oldest mum at her school gate but also one of the happiest. She also has a lovely relationship with her older siblings. Good luck x

Just a comment to say I had my dc at nearly 39. All went well 😊

I am 38 and 28 weeks pregnant with my second. No issues so far (touch wood) and I am fat as well:)

Had three in my late thirties, all good!
It seems old to you cause you had two younger but it's really not Smile
Enjoy!

Pregnant now at 37 with my first, if all goes to plan will be 38 at the time of birth. Never planned to have a first baby so late in life but had a bit of bad luck and didn't meet DH until I was older. None of the midwives or doctors I have seen so far have batted an eyelid about my age. So far the pregnancy has been smooth, although getting extra monitoring due to a health condition that is not linked to age. I'm a bit self conscious about making mum friends due to potentially being so much older but I need to get over myself! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

I had my first at 26 and my second at 43 - 2 months off being 44
17 year gap
All was fine and I had a great pregnancy 👍🏻

I'm 38 and had my 4th baby 3wks ago.
My eldest 2 are 17 and 13, then I have a 3yr old and now this one.
I had elective sections for babies 1 and 3 and a VBAC for babies 2 and 4. To be honest, this last pregnancy was the easiest and the birth was very straight forward with no problems (he did spontaneously come 3wks early though). I had planned on trying for a VBAC anyway with the consent of the consultant.
Having older ones is great...I can shower or put the washing on or just go to the loo knowing the little ones are safe!

Try to look at the positives and not worry too much, 37 is not old. Congratulations and good luck.

I'm 37 and 34wk with our 6th, others are 15, 10, 9 & 6 (twins).
My mother seems to think I'm old but I do not agree!! Had an elcs last time as twins were breech & transverse. I have had many miscarriages but no more in my 30's than in my 20's. Don't feel ready to say "no more" yet either. Looking likely I'll have elcs again this time as baby is on the 97th centile and they are thinking of brining her early, I don't want an induction.

I’m 38 (will be 39 when baby is born) and 29+4 currently with my fourth baby.

I’ve also had 3 c sections and will be having my fourth section. Am obviously consultant led but aside from ensuring there will be extra people in theatre to assist with things and being prepared for it to take longer to get baby out, she isn’t worried.

I have developed gestational diabetes this time around but not likely linked to my age.

Moominmiss · 09/07/2021 10:14

Also I was worried about miscarriage as I had 4 before falling pregnant with this baby.

But after investigations with a fertility specialist they found no reason for the losses. I took aspirin from 1dpo and now here I am nearly 30 weeks!

Phillipa12 · 09/07/2021 10:18

I had my first at 33 and my 4th and last baby at 40. All were sections and apart from having an extra couple of people in for my 4th section it all went smoothly as did my recovery.

bunnypenny · 09/07/2021 10:19

I was 40 when DS was born, 41 when DD was born and DC3 will be born in Dec (all being well) when i'm 43. :D

All have been fine, easy pregnancies (with this one, the NHS combined test said i was high risk for DS, but the NIPT has said low risk - i put this largely down to my age). You'll be fine.
