Hey,

So long story cut short I had a miscarriage in May and bleed for 8 weeks, and haven't had a period since (now 15 days late) so did a test and it was bang bright as you like positive now I'm trying to wok out how far I am but I'm not sure how to work it out as obviously my last period I had a miscarriage but do I still go by that? Or the last time we had sex as need to book in with epau for a scan but can't before 6 weeks, and my drs are useless and keep saying book in with midwife they will sort you out which don't help I'm panicking like mad and sooooo scared!!

You sound worried so first off all, it’s very early and honestly whatever wine or deli meats or ibuprofen or whatever you may have had, I’m sure it’s fine.

There really is no way to tell when you O’d following a miscarriage. Even at the doctor’s when I went is for a 1 week check-up, they were like, “yeah your period will come back in black blah blah”. And I was like, “but is that from when the bleeding started? Or when I passed tissue? Or now? I’ve been bleeding for TWO WEEKS now?”

And this doctor ugh…. They said, “hard to say!”

Get to a doctor and have a scan, they’ll tell you exactly where baby is measuring. I know it must feel like a roller coaster of emotions, but I am happy for you!

Yes, unless you know when you ovulated you cannot really know for sure when you conceived.

After I had a miscarriage last year my next periods were a mess, I had 3 super long periods of 40+ days and then one that was only 20+ days. Mine are usually around 30 days. So it is quite unpredictable.

Did you take home tests after your miscarriage and get a negative result?

Same question here. Are you sure the positive isn't just leftover hormons from the mc?
If not, you are gonna have to wait till your 6 weeks appoitement. Unfortunately, there is no way to know when did you concive as before 6 weeks they won't be able to see the baby and can't measure it...There is no point to do blood test either as you won't know the date and the levels would only mess with your mind. I know waiting is hard but if its a new pregnancy just try to stay positive.
My period started exactly 4 weeks after the mc ( not when I started to bleed but when the mc actually happened; I know the day as it was really painful). I hope that's helpful.
