Hi everyone looking for some advise or to see if anyone has been in a similar situation!
I gave birth last month. I was treated for mastitis twice in pregnancy (once on each breast) which cleared with antibiotics. I been treated for mastitis again twice since giving birth although have always formula fed.
Since the last time I had it two weeks ago I have noticed thickening to the skin and orange peel skin to the area that was affected. No longer sore or red. I never had a temperature or felt unwell any of the times.
GP has now referred me as urgent to the breast clinic and google has made me sooooo anxious that it maybe was never mastitis and is actually inflammatory breast cancer?! But What’s confusing me is that the antibiotics seems to have cleared it each time??
Can any one shed some light for me that may have had a similar situation and might not be the worst case scenario??

Thank you

I only had mastitis once and it went away completely with AB so I wouldn't have a clue what your symptoms mean, but I wonder if the thickening & texture are just a reaction to both the infection and the AB.
like how blisters that harden - wouldn't that be a logical explanation?

Or maybe a sort of thrush if it keeps coming back?
is it itchy at all?

it's hard not to fear the worst, but try not to. I reckon it's urgent because they'd want to save you another bout of it and to get to the bottom of it.
promise you stop Googling symptoms! x
