Will it just stop like magic or will it taper off? I can't go on for much longer..

do any of you have dry retching all day? and not actually being sick but bringing up water or milk that you have just drank?

Hi Frosty - tapers off in my experience - sorry. It changed slow enough that I didn't really notice it changing. Think vomiting stopped about 15 weeks but general yukkiness another few weeks (and never completely gone). I made it into work most days but know if I had a job like teacher or nurse would have been impossible so don't feel bad about not being able to cope. Tiredness really makes a difference - always a lot sicker on a Friday than a Monday, even if you're not aware that you're feeling tired. Hope you start to feel better soon and the rest of the pregnancy is better! (BTW by the end i was so conditioned to being sick that any little tickle in the throat or cough would set off instantaneous vomiting with no warning even if I wasn't feeling sick any more. So watch out when you get back to work!!!)

i'm a teacher and due back at work on Monday but petrified of retching and vomiting in class, but also want to go back rather than being a useless lump at home. i just want it to go now. how are you after seeing consultant and GP Frosty?

hi frostythesnowmum,

i know exactly how you feel i'm 12 weeks pregnant too and feel so sick all the time. sometimes i'm sick 7 or 8 times a day, others just once. i've not been to work for 4 weeks and wonder how long this will go on for. is comforting to know there are others out there who feel or have felt the same way and are still alive! i hope you feel better soon. if you need a moan, i'm happy to listen. take care

Thanks for replies, consultant wasn't that helpful as I was there for the nucal scan (which was fine ) and I mentioned the ms but he didn't really enter into conversation about it. I did go back to gp who offered more drugs but I refused for now as mentally I'm coping better (at 12 weeks I'm hoping the end is nigh!) and the last ones drugged me so bad they just made things worse.
I don't know if you have noticed my other thread about my breast lump but I'm so worried about that it is really distracting me from my MS - I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing .
It might be my imagination but i'm sure a few evenings have been better recently so I'm hoping this is the start of some improvement. Good luck to all fellow sufferers - hang in there
