Hi all!

I'm 20+1 and had my anomaly scan today. Baby is well and everything is where it should be and developing just fine I'm just wondering when you all started buying baby bits?

Anytime I even think of buying anything I just feel like I'm tempting fate and automatically think of the worst xx

I'm 23 weeks and just bought the pram and car seat today, it won't arrive until September. I ordered the cot/nursery furniture last week and that takes 6-8 weeks to arrive too, so I'd say just bear in mind some things have quite long wait times. I didn't want to feel rushed later on when I'm bigger/more tired.

I think start putting your list together now.

I can't remember when I started buying bits but probably 24w mark, but buying things won't jinx anything.

I bought a few bits each month to help spread the cost a bit.

I'm 26 weeks and had to order my pram on a rush order this weekend 😂🙈 I thought I had loads of time but the sales assistant was horrified.

I think to be fair it depends on what you want - I'm sure I would have been able to choose a pram they had in stock, or order something online with next day delivery or whatever, so I wouldn't have been left with no options! But it just so happened the pram I picked had a long lead in, so it obviously varies - just to make you aware!

Maybe go shopping / start to have a look, and make a point of checking the lead in times for the bigger items, like pram!

It’s up to you. If you’re craving a trip to the shops to get some bits and pieces then do it and enjoy it. It’s lovely buying the first few hits. But it’ll also be no problem if you decide to wait.

I was buying/getting second hand stuff before we even conceived 😂
When we got our BFP that was it... I bought lots lol. I quite like that I got stuff early on - the pram was the latest thing but that was due to lockdown so we couldn't go and try any out. I had it ordered by 29 weeks though and I picked up it last week (36 weeks) and that felt like a really long wait 😂
