Hi there jellyjem.

Thank our lucky stars for mumsnet and computer access. Am glad you're feeling better. A good cry and a good night's sleep can work wonders.

Maybe all posters on here should be called 'the jellyjem cheer-up group'. Sleep well and we'll speak tomorrow (if my computer doesn't crash again!).

Hi jellyjem, hope you're feeling a bit more cheerful today. What very stingy visitors hours! Definitely try ringing patientline, I never thought to but know that other girls did (by the time I found out I was about to leave so didn't bother). Is there a payphone on your ward that you could use instead? I had a system with my mum where I would hang up as soon as she answered, then she rang me back and was only charged normal landline rates.

Can very much sympathise with not feeling ill. I also felt so cheated out of the last fews months of my pregnancy, wondering round mothercare etc. Funnily enough one of the mws lent me a book on pre-eclampsia and there was a whole chapter on the difficulty of treating women because no one believed they were ill and discharged themselves from hopsital or didn't turn up to appointments.

Probably not much help now but in a year's time, although you might still feel a little sad about it, this time will seem like a tiny tiny dot at the beginning of your baby's life and a very small bit of unpleasantness to go through to get something so gorgeous! Chin up, keep posting and see how much you can blag off patientline!
