Hey everyone
Am 16 weeks pregnant, over the last month ive started getting head aches, mostly mild ones, but Yesterday I had a really bad migraine which lasted about five hours and today my heads still really hurting. Do you think I have anything to worry about or is this normal? Headaches migraines is something that ive never really suffered with before.
Any help would be great

I'm almost 18 weeks and I've been getting a lot of headaches in the last two weeks, which is very unusual for me too.

I think it's quite common due to the hormone changes but if you are concerned can you give your midwife a call?

I know paracetamol is generally considered safe but I don't want to keep popping pills so other things that have helped me are taking a nap (although not always possible) and having a small drink of full fat Coca Cola, I'm wondering if the caffeine helped me as I never have it normally. My friend has also recommended coconut water.

Thank you, I will try these ideas x

I had proper migraines (pain including vision loss, pins and needles, nausea) from 7 weeks until 13 weeks. I'm not getting headaches (just the sore head) on and off every few days at 14+2. It seems to improve if I drink more water. I'm pretty sure it's hormones. Hoping it will ease as I get further into the second trimester

I had awful migraines form 14 weeks and I still get them now at 22 weeks.

I spoke to my midwife about it at my 15 week appointment and it’s really common due to hormone changes. Her advice was dark room, cold compress, paracetamol and lots of water and rest. Hard when you’ve a busy job chained to a laptop!

Hope yours get better soon x
