For anyone that didn't see my other post a few days ago I tested positive for covid last Friday I got my results Sunday but had been poorly since the Wednesday so my last day of isolation is this Sunday, anyway I have my 20 week scan next Thursday and when I've spoke to the hospital today it doesn't look like il be to have it as now you have to have a negative lateral flow test 24 hours before any hospital appointment and when I've read up about it it says that it will more than likely show up positive on a test for up to 90 days after having covid so therefore they have said I will have to ring up on Wednesday after I do the test to rearrange my appointment. When I mentioned the 90 thing to her she said well I don't know what will happen they will have to find a way around it somehow at some point I'm so upset and a bit annoyed about it.

DH and I tested positive on lateral flows and PCRs a few weeks ago (which meant delaying my 12 week scan so I understand the worry and frustration), but both of us got negative lateral flows about 5 or 6 days later. Granted, we didn't have bad symptoms (he had a cough for a few weeks and I never had any symptoms at all other than fatigue but that felt just like first trimester tiredness anyway) so maybe neither of us had a particularly high viral load.

I've only read about PCR tests being likely to still give positive results up to 90 days later. Lateral flows are less sensitive so I think you may well be alright. You can always take one now and see. I was taking them daily (as I was originally on the daily contact testing study instead of self isolating when DH got his positive result) and could see the line getting fainter fairly soon after the positive one.

I found out I had COVID via a PCR test. I retested a month later (PCR again) and it was negative. The 90 days is just NHS guidance for when you should retest.

Thank you for your replies. I will try a test tomorrow and see what it says the again in a few days & fingers crossed it might be negative.
