Hello all!

I am 6 weeks pregnant and have experienced mild period-pain-like cramps fairly constantly since before I even tested positive a couple of weeks ago, which have been uncomfortable but I could cope. However, the last week or so I've been woken up 3 or 4 times every night with SEVERE uterus cramping. I'm talking HORRIFIC, not your average mild cramping. I feel faint and sick at the strength of the pain, unable to talk. I've worked out that if I can force myself stretch in different positions, it can improve within 30mins-1hr. The cramps are also pretty constant throughout the daytime but they are a lot milder. To my surprise, I've had no bleeding, though I've no idea how given the amount of pain!

The GP told me to go to the local EPU, who tested my bloods (very high progesterone and HCG, so all good) and a scan even showed a little heartbeat. So I am very lucky in many ways! They gave me co-codamol to take when pain is at its worst, as paracetamol and hot water bottle/baths does nothing. I'm reluctant to take this, though they said it is fine.

I'm wondering if anyone further through their pregnancy has experienced this and DOES IT STOP at some point?!? Confused

After visiting the EPU I'm not hugely concerned that something is wrong, though with contractions so strong I do wonder whether at some point when the baby this could cause a miscarriage if it continues...

Aside from that, any miracle cures?

One thing of note - I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.

Any thoughts much appreciated!
