I had an antenatal appt at the hospital on Monday and, long story, have only just got the results of the urine test back and, I assume I have an infection as my surgery have prescribed some amoxycillin. I've taken these loads of times before. Am I right in thinking that a urine infection is quite common in pregnancy and have people readily taken antibiotics. I'm not a drugs phobe but I probably sound/am neurotic but just want to know. Ta very much. I am a bit concerned that i've now had it for nearly a week at least.

Didn't get to speak to my gp btw and I wasn't too eager to discuss my bladder probs in a packed surgery

Delgirl, I too had avoided any type of painkiller or prescription medicine but seem to have picked up more than my fair share of UTI's and have been prescribed amoxycillin too. I had no problems with it at all and it cleared up the infection, bottom line, no need to worry.

thanks so much, I knew it was ok really but just wanted some reassurance. I shall take them now
