Hi all

I’m 28 weeks and had a growth scan where baby is measuring about 2lbs. Is this concerning? I have nothing to go by other than being told it’s below average x

I also had a growth scan at 28 weeks and baby measured about 2lb 7 ish so not too far off. They will likely just monitor you a little closer. Every baby and every mother is different. Try not to worry :) x

Did the sonographer say anything else? Have you talked to your midwife?

@husbandcallsmepickle I’ve to come back for another growth scan in 4 weeks I was told x

They can’t be that worried then which is a good sign! As long as placenta is all functioning fine and you’re healthy it might just be that your baby is smaller but that’s normal for them x

@bq2020 thank you for the reassurance x

I’ve recently had a 28 week growth scan and baby was measuring 2.2lb, so very similar to yours. The sonographer, who clocked me as a worrier, gave me a really stern talking to about how I was absolutely not to fret about any of the numbers or percentiles because overall baby’s growth was within normal parameters and that’s all that matters. That probably goes for you too, OP, if you haven’t been told that they have any specific concerns and they’re happy to wait another 4 weeks to scan. Hope you get to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy soon. X

You should be reassured that it's 4 weeks and not sooner. I was having growth
scans every 2 weeks in my 3rd trimester as baby was measuring big.
