Hi all i am looking for some advice with regards to sleeping i am currently 9 wks but have been off work for the past week with a bad back since then i cannot get comfy when i go to bed so end up being awake most of the night.

I was sleeping on my left side but that now hurts my back.

I can sleep on my back but read that later on your not supposed to so don't really want to get into that habit if you see what i mean

Any ideas??

I had one of those big long sausage pillows - it was a godsend and have lent 'him' out (my husband said it was like having another man in bed) It would go under my head, bump then between my knees. When baby arrives it's good for feeding and then to prop them when they're learning to sit.

I also worried about sleeping on my back but so often woke up like that it can't really be a problem.

I can second one of those big long pillows. They allow you to put yourself into various different positions and take the starin away from your bump - and at the moment your back.

I always slept well during my pg, and attribute this to the pillow.

Oh, and is you mattress up to scratch? I put up with a crappy mattress for ages, when we got a new one it was divine.

Hi Thanks for the messages

My mattress is a memory foam mattress so should be ok.

Might try the pillow as i can't go on like this much longer back to work next week and i'm shattered!!

www.welovesleep.co.uk has one for £22.99 which I think is a great price. Just Google 'Maternity Pillow'.
