So just went to Wagamama to have lunch and got my usual which includes peach iced tea (large) didn't cross my mind that it contains caffeine! Finished the whole glass! Just found out I'm pregnant a couple weeks ago so still not use to watching what I can and can't eat. I'm already anxious about everything already so this has really got me going 😫 so of course I googled it and this was the first article I see. Please tell me I'm still ok and it was only a glass so won't do any harm?? Has anyone else had iced to during pregnancy and is it that bad??

You had one glass….

MsSquiz · 30/06/2021 16:44

I drank 1 cup of caffeinated tea everyday when I was pregnant, as well as a can of coke every few days.

Honestly, 1 cup of iced tea will be fine!

There will be lots of instances during pregnancies when you will need to check what you eat or drink.
But if you want to stay sane just stick to NHS website for guidelines or if you have time on your hand look at reliable research with numbers, sources etc...
Pretty sure the amount of caffeine that might harm your fetus is not a glass of ice tea or even 2 or 3.

One glass is fine
As your screen shot says it's all about limit.

Why? What’s wrong with having some caffeine while pregnant Confused I cut down but certainly haven’t cut it out.

Honestly, chill.

RubyGoat · 30/06/2021 17:12

A single glass of iced tea will be fine. Tea is relatively low in caffeine, compared to coffee, coke etc.

Reading back my post I realise how ridiculous I sound as I know it was just 1 cup but I think I just panicked especially after asking Dr Evil (google) all I saw was the word miscarriage and still birth on every article. I guess I just needed reassurance and stories about other pregnant ladies consuming caffeine without any problems. Again I know it was just a glass but I just panicked and plus I’m so anxious about everything right now it really didn’t help at all! I’ve gotta say that after reading all these posts I actually feel 1000 times better than I did like an hour ago but I guess that’s what these apps are here for! Advice and reassurance! Thank you so much ladies! I can sleep easy tonight! Xx

Don’t google. Use the NHS page for guidance on food or drink. Hell, google anything and you’ll probably find some ridiculous article linking it to miscarriage.

C3PO31 · 30/06/2021 17:54

Safe guidelines is no more than 200mg a day lovely so you’ll be absolutely fine! You’ll probably be surprised how much that actually is when you work it out!
