Harmony test results taking ages!

Hi ladies, just after a bit of reassurance really. I had my harmony test on 19th June (saturday) and was told that my results would be back between 5-7 working days. It is the 7th day today and I'm getting a bit worried that this could mean there is a problem. I emailed the company and they said that delayed results doesn't mean there is something wrong with the baby. But i can't help but think its going to come back inconclusive. Did anyone else have to wait a while and the results came back ok?
Thanks

Hey @Barney29 I just opened another thread as my Harmony test came back today (7th working day after blood taken) and it was inconclusive.
They are now testing the 2nd tube, but I am not very optimistic...

I do hope this will be very different for you!! Xx

I have been told to expect 2 weeks

jessicakxx · 29/06/2021 17:29

I think harmony tests are taking upto 2 weeks now due to harmony labs in uk not running and therefore bloods are sent to America

Catherine1210 · 29/06/2021 21:44

I went for a test last Wednesday and was told harmony were doing system updates at their London lab so were sending all samples to the American lab. I went on Monday for my bloods and if tested this week the London lab is back in action. The clinic who I went to for my test clearly explained this to me, it’s not professional others didn’t and I’m sure the wait has caused you worry, I’m sorry to hear that

@cloud2021 Oh no thats so frustrating! I'm sure the next one will come back fine. I don't know if you have read @catherine1210 comment but i wonder if your doctor has realised too late that the harmony lab in the uk was doing updates and to cover their back have said that its come back inconclusive as your bloods have been lost? Just a thought!

@Catherine1210 thank you for that, it would explain a lot! I wonder if my doctor will be honest or will say that my results have come back inconclusive to cover his back. I'll be interested to see what he says if and when he calls back! I wonder if it might be worth mentioning to him?!

I was told it could be up to 2 weeks for results and they ended up taking the full 2 weeks!

Catherine1210 · 30/06/2021 08:57

Yes I would mention it as like I said I was told about the samples going to America but given the option to wait until this week with the reassurance it would be 5 working day turn around and the sample wouldn’t be travelling thousands of miles in a plane! She said there was more chance of a sample getting damaged in transit. So I opted to wait and come back for a test this week

Catherine1210 · 30/06/2021 08:58

American lab results average 10-14 days so if it’s taken that long chances are it went there

cloud2021 · 30/06/2021 09:04

@Barney29 Thank you! they forwarded me the email from the laboratory which just says "We have not been able to generate a result for this patient from the first blood tube tested; processing of the second blood tube is in progress in our back-up Roche laboratory." I assume they have a back up lab in UK? But yes I think they should have told us last week that the labs weren't running normally....

cloud2021 · 02/07/2021 08:56

Just as an update... I got the results from the second tube!! All low risk and they told me the sex as well :)

The results were signed from a lab in US so you were right and the reason of the delay is that they couldn't process them in UK.

Hope you got yours alright @Barney29?

Catherine1210 · 02/07/2021 09:11

Aw that’s fab news. I had bloods Monday and they were sent to London and I got the results yesterday on Thursday so it was super speedy this week! It was also good news here which is a big relief. Hope you ladies who haven’t had results aren’t waiting much longer xx

Barney29 · 06/07/2021 12:48

@cloud2021 so glad your results came back OK! Mine also came back low risk pheww! Such a relief! It took 2 weeks in tbe end- although the lab on my paperwork is in London!! So very bizarre!
