Hi everyone

I have a 9 month old and in currently 13 weeks pregnant
I've been looking at prams and was thinking of getting the side by side buggy style ones as dont like idea one being under the other
The buggy style ones that say there suitable from birth has anyone used these and how was the newborn in it
I've no clue about double prams
All advice would be great thank you

We had a tandem for our 2nd and 3rd, they were on the same level but baby behind the toddler. Was okay but with a heavy toddler quite hard work to push. When we had our twins we got a side by side zeta vooom, that was fab. Suitable from birth, good value, very maneuverable, fit through most doorways and compact folded. We've got the single version for this baby.

Maybe look at the bugaboo donkey so you can have carrycot and seat next to each other

Morning. I'm soon going to have a 2 year old and newborn so not quite the same

I looked into double buggies but was put off by most not being able to fit through doorways of shops etc. There is one that is super slim and claims to be able to fit through (I forget which brand) but when I looked at reviews it said the seats are so narrow they aren't very comfortable

A friend had a newborn and 1 year old and did buy and end up selling something I think was similar to what you describe and it was because she realised that her newborn didn't look safe in the stroller attachment (despite it being suitable from birth) and flat. It was exposed at the sides and the straps didn't quite look like they would contain such a little bundle. She missed the high sides of a traditional bassinet pram as she had her in the Autumn and said the wind was quite ferocious.

We are looking at the iCandy Orange which is one on top of the other but with different configurations so we think it will be suitable for bassinet pram and a toddler stroller attachment. It also has bars to raise the level up and works as a single buggy if just taking one out. Also has a built in buggy board for then the older one can stand and walk. It is expensive but we are selling our current travel system for it.

Not sure if that helpful!

I bought different types of double prams, and I settled and loved the city mini double stroller you can also purchase the carrycot for the baby, it has loads of space and folds down brilliantly for a double pram

Look at the Mountain buggy duet. They can be side by side but it's no wider than a regular pushchair.

We have the Out n About double nipper for 21mo and 10 week old. The baby is in the add on bassinet bit but he's quite long and don't think he'll still fit for too much longer. Thankfully the seats go completely flat so he can go in that once he outgrows the bassinet, just means he'll be facing forwards so I can't gaze adoringly at him. But that's ok I suppose! It's the narrowest double buggy you get, I think 71cm wide and my front door is 72cm so it just fits. I haven't found any shop doorways that are too narrow. It's a 3 wheeler and a bit of a beast but tbh I think any double buggy is going to feel massive in comparison to a single.

Mountain buggy duet is side by side with option to add bassinet for newborn- fits through most standard doors. Decent size basket underneath. My oldest was 21 months when youngest arrived and this was great

Bugaboo Donkey if buying new is expensive but can pick them up for a reasonable price secondhand.

They carry cot can go beside the seat unit and when one of them no longer wants to go in the pushchair you can push it back in to make a single pram.
