11 weeks pregnant and having abdominal pains

Hi all, my first time posting on here so just after some reassurance. I’m 11 weeks pregnant today and have had 2 early scans (8weeks and 10weeks). In my last scan baby was in the right place and heard a healthy heartbeat. I had a MMC last October so obviously quite anxious in this pregnancy. These past couple of weeks I’ve been getting sharp pains in my lower abdomen, they come and go but they feel like a sharp needle in my skin when they come. I’m still quite nauseous and have aversions to foods but my boobs aren’t as full looking or tender as they were, should I be concerned? My 12 weeks scan is a week on Thursday and I always get super anxious going to them incase we get bad news again.

If it’s not a new symptom and you’ve had 2 scans, very recently, I wouldn’t be too concerned

Have a look at the position of your round ligaments online and see if the pains you are getting are in the same area. I had terrible round ligament pain. Also how are your bowel movements? First trimester constipation can be quite painful.

Yeah it does seem to be in the same area as the round ligament pain, thanks! Didn’t realise you could get round ligament pain in the first trimester. Also the constipation is brutal, I’ve been taking lactulose daily but it seems to give me bad gripes which then makes me feel dizzy so probably haven’t been taking it as much as I should.

I had round ligament pain from so early on that I could barely lift my arms to do my hair! My womb just seemed to pop really early. I'm 20 weeks now and the pains have eased off an awful lot

I'm 13 weeks to the day and had my scan today and have the pains in my stomach too that come and go and have been like it the last few days so sounds like what your experiencing. Thankfully today I was told everything looks fine but I understand your worry. I know it's hard not to worry but try and relax maybe try a warming bath x

KatM93 · 28/06/2021 19:26

@romdowa that sounds awful! Mine aren’t that bad I just feel uncomfortable all the time like all I want to do is go to bed because that’s when it seems to ease.

@RebeccaAndBump glad your scan went ok! I think if everything’s ok at mine I’ll feel more relaxed. Didn’t realise how much growing a baby would take it toll on my body, grateful for every moment though ☺️

@KatM93 hey! I'm 14 weeks pregnant and from about 10 weeks I got these kind of pains. Also some sharp shooting pains. I've actually had them today too and not had them in a while. It panicked me to begin with and phoned midwife (I was about 11 weeks) and she reassured me it's normal and the uterus stretching and pressing on nerves etc xx

KatM93 · 29/06/2021 21:31

@lottie198 ohh that’s reassuring because I’m sure mine started from 10 weeks or so too, I just can’t help being so anxious with this pregnancy. I’m on Mumsnet nearly everyday looking into something else 😂
