Hi there, Sorry for the really TMI photo that's attached but for the past few days I've experienced a gooey snot like discharge. This morning I found my panty liner completely soaked with it and when I wiped there was ALOT and a little speck of blood. I'm 34 weeks and FTM so I dont know if I should contact the midwife as I dont want to waste anyone's time due to covid and all that. I've been having alot of pressure down there the past 2 weeks and my boy has been head down from 24 weeks. I've been checked for infections etc and it's all came back clear. Hopefully someone can help? X

Hello - please speak to your midwife or doctor today. I say this kindly, but you are NOT wasting anyone's time. Flowers

Should I be worried? Xx

You're 34 weeks pregnant and think you've lost your mucus plug. You need to call your midwife. You're not wasting anyone's time.

Thank you so much for replying. I'm going to phone straight away. Thank you both xx

You can lose your mucus plug at any time, it also rebuilds. It’s not blood stained so likely all will well. If you need reassurance give your midwife a call.

I’m a midwife and often receive calls from women re losing mucus plug early. If not pain, blood etc usually monitor, take it easy, call back if any further concerns

I can't trump the midwife post above but agree. I am 37 weeks with 3rd and have lost bits of my plug for probably 10 weeks +. Not as much as you, but little snot like chunks.

Having had my bloody show a day or two before both mine actually came, it is quite different. There is loads and it does tend to have quite a bit of blood mixed through or at least more colour to it.

With my 2nd I started losing it immediately after a sweep at 40 weeks and continued to do so for the 3 days til he was born.

Hope everything is okay.

Thank you all so much, I just needed some advice before i phoned. I hate phoning when it could be nothing as I hate wasting midwives/nurses/doctors time. I've had a smooth pregnancy so far but this just freaked me out. I'm getting some cramping but I dont know if I'm imagining it or not lol. I'll see it out and see how things go the rest of the night. If cramps get worse I'll phone straight away. Xx

@Poppyyoung18 how are you getting on?

Poppyyoung18 · 10/07/2021 20:51

@Muststopeating I'm still here, still loosing little bits here and there and having Braxton hicks. I went to my midwife appointment last week and had to go for an emergency growth scan as baby is measuring small. Everything is fine except his little tummy which doesnt seem to be growing. So I've to go back this week for another one and if it still hasnt grown then I'm being induced at 37 weeks. Thank you so much for asking xx
