MATB1 form

I had my 20 week scan last week and my employer is asking for my MATB1 form. I have read online that you usually get it at your next midwife appointment which won’t be until I’m 26weeks. Currently my employer is making pregnant colleagues go off at 28weeks due to coronavirus. Has anyone been able to get their form earlier rather than waiting for their next midwife appointment?

I just messaged my midwife and she left my mat b form to collect at reception.

I got mine at my 22 week apt not at the 20 week scan ( based in Scotland). I had to submit to work by week 25, or 15 weeks before due date to ensure I qualified for my leave ( I'm already WFH) . Best check what your company rules are on deadline for submission but yeah I'd get in touch with your midwife.

I was the same as the previous comment (in Scotland). I think some employers do want it before 26 weeks so I’d message and ask your midwife if you could get it sooner. I don’t think they’re doing half as many appointments because of covid so maybe that’s why

I got mine the same day as my 20 week scan. You have to give it to your employer by 25 weeks so definitely chase it up OP

I had the same problem, had my 20 week scan but no midwife appointment until week 25 and I think my employer said they need it by the end of week 25. I did try and ring the midwives but no matter how many messages I left on the answer machine they never got back to me so I had to just wait until my appointment. I handed it to my manager around the end of week 26 and it wasn't a problem, the payroll department were all working from home anyway and probably expected delays to things due to Covid, my manager just scanned the form and emailed it across and payroll processed the paperwork and sorted my maternity pay pretty quickly.

I asked my MW this and she said to text after the 20w scan and she'd do it and put it behind reception for me to collect.

Employer doesn't technically need it by week 25, because they need it to sort your pay, not your leave. It's only your leave dates they actually need by week 25 based on the statutory leave entitlement. I'm not seeing my midwife again until week 29 and I can't make contact her with at all anyway so am assuming I will get in then and work aren't bothered at all, they've just said to pass them a copy once I get it.

I got mine at my 25 week midwife appointment. My employer only wanted/needed to know my leave dates and my intentions etc. I gave them my matb1 form around 26 weeks or so and it wasn’t a problem.

My midwife said I'd get it at 25/26 weeks but if I needed it before she would organise it.
O think most employers wants to before that 15 week before childbirth so I dunno why we don't just get it after the 20 week scan.
