Which trimester did you get your covid vaccine?

I know some people are not for having the covid vaccine in pregnancy but for me the pros outweigh the cons (likely none if looking at the study of 90,000 pregnant women in the US who have had no problems after having the jab! 😊)
Just wanted to know what trimester everyone who has had the jab had it in please as I’m trying to make a decision? I am currently in the first trimester xx

I had my first Pfizer jab at 23 weeks, will be due my second at 35 weeks.
Tbh I’d have had it sooner but the guidelines earlier than that were that pregnant women weren’t being offered it. As soon as that changed I took the first appointment for it I could get!
I had no issues. Very sore arm for a few days and felt ever so slightly ‘off’ that first evening, but otherwise fine.
Eager to get my second jab done ready for me to go into hospital.

I had my first moderna at 23 weeks. All fine so far.

I also agonised over it for weeks though!

sazzt · 28/06/2021 08:50

I had it as soon as I was eligible, at which time I was 25 weeks. Eagerly awaiting my second, hoping to be able to get it after 8 weeks so I will be 33 weeks. Keen to get it ASAP for immunity benefits, and also so as any side effects are over and done with well before I should be going into labour or caring for a newborn!

I had my first (Moderna) at 32 weeks just over a week ago. Second is booked for September when baby will already be here but hoping to try and move it sooner before she arrives

TheMotherlode · 28/06/2021 08:54

Had my first jab in the second trimester and will be third trimester when I have the second jab. I just picked the earliest date that I could though, I would have had it any any point in my pregnancy.

The only thing that might have slightly put me off in the first trimester was that I felt so unwell with morning sickness and general pregnancy tiredness and may have not wanted to add to that with vaccine effects, but I probably still would have had it then anyway if offered. As it turns out I didn’t have any ill effects from the vaccine apart from a sore arm.

I had my first Pfizer dose at 3 weeks and currently waiting for my second dose, hoping to have it done in a few days (at 6 weeks) in a walk in centre and if that doesn't work then when I get an appointment which should be around 10 weeks. Want to be protected as soon as possible! Had a few side effects after the first like nausea, tiredness and general unwellness but feeling fine now.

muddlingmyway · 28/06/2021 09:11

Decided to wait until my second trimester and have recently had it - no side effects at all apart from a bit of a sore arm for a day

Piecrust32 · 28/06/2021 09:29

Had both in my second trimester, mine was az before advice changed 🙈 i was offered to have it as I've had previous stillbirth
Had no side effects from either jab, baby Is looking good (30 weeks )

SlovenlyUnwedMother · 28/06/2021 11:01

I had my first in the third trimester, as soon as I was eligible. I would have had it earlier if I'd been given the option. I won't be able to get my second until after the birth which isn't ideal if I get any side effects as I'll have a newborn.

I had my first at 25 weeks and second will be at 35 weeks. Had the Pfizer. Only issue I had was being hot and sweaty the next day, only lasted 8 hours or so and then all was fine. Baby is kicking away and super happy in there 👍

Anon08 · 28/06/2021 12:11
@Anon08 and everything was ok? How many weeks are you now? Congratulations ☺️ X
Thanks! Yes, all fine. 14 weeks now, had scans since and all doing fine.

RosemaryRosemary · 28/06/2021 21:44

14 weeks. Moderna. All went well but had a sore arm. Next one is booked 8 weeks from the first

MJM1608 · 28/06/2021 23:37

I had my pfizer first dose today at 37 weeks 😊 bub is wriggling away in there xx

Mwilliams31 · 29/06/2021 15:09

Thank you everyone for your replies - you have given me so much more confidence in my decision to get my second jab ☺️ Think I will wait until things are a bit more established pregnancy wise and have it in my second trimester xx

I had my first Pfizer jab at 26 weeks. Sore arm for one night and nothing more.
I'm due my 2nd jab at 34 weeks. It was initially 39 weeks, but thankfully the rules changed so it could be brought forward!

shivawn · 30/06/2021 08:56

First trimester for me, in January when things were really bad here in Ireland.

KeepSmiling89 · 30/06/2021 09:12

I had my first Pfizer dose just over a week ago at 18+4. Just a sore arm for a couple of days. No idea when my 2nd dose will be.

Mummy2O · 30/06/2021 09:21

3rd trimester here, but only because it wasn't offered to my age group until then.

Makingnumber2 · 30/06/2021 13:35

I wanted to wait until second tri so had mine done at 13weeks and will be trying to get next dose sooner rather than later if I can- probably around 20 weeks. Had a very sore arm for the rest of day and into next day and had a bad night's sleep- was very hot and sweaty and had horrible dreams, but aside from that no other effects.
