26 weeks. Movement but no real kicks yet

Hi. I'm feeling lots of flips and wiggles (starting to get a pattern) and seeing the odd little nudge on my belly, but others are saying they're feeling beaten up from inside at this point. Should I be punched and kicked now? Has anyone else not felt powerful kicks to later on?

I didn’t feel absolutely anything apart of two kicks in the whole pregnancy. No flutters, no movement, nothing.

Yet some way I managed to give birth to a child who 15 years later still cannot sit still.

I’m 28 weeks and have lots of movements and patterns but nothing painful or strong. I do know he likes to place himself in funny positions so I think that’s why it’s not too strong at the moment.

I would speak to your midwife at your next appointment and see what they say but a lot of it seems to be down to baby and placenta position. If yours has always settled into a position where they're comfy kicking/punching your back then you're less likely to feel strong movements. Likewise if your placenta is on the front that can really muffle movements. Combine both of those together and your little one could be perfectly healthy kicking away and you would potentially barely feel a thing.

If what you're feeling has always been normal for you and this baby then in theory there's nothing to worry about. But like I said, do mention it to your midwife and see if they have any professional advice on what you should be doing.

My placenta was at the front with my DS and I'm also a size 16. I went through my whole pregnancy with lots of clear movements, I could feel turns etc but I never felt strong kicks or felt beaten up. May have had something to do with my extra padding though!!

Thank you everyone! Placenta is at the back so thought I would be getting kicked to high hell now but apparently not!! She's more of a wriggler in scans too so maybe this is just what she's like 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Kicks just refers to unspecified movements really, if you're having lots of movements but nothing you could define as an actual kick that's fine.

Concentrate on movements rather than actual kicks.
She could also be in an awkward position so her feet could be tucked away to feel an actual kick!
