Anyone have a large yolk sac and end up with a healthy pregnancy?
Sonographer refused to measure it and said all looks fine but I'm so worried.
Having another scan on July 5th. Time is standing still.
Scan was at 7+2 measuring 7.

Do you have any training in sonography? You think the scan looks bad, presumably you have years of training and qualifications and have seen hundreds of scan images in a professional context.
If not, you need to let them do their job.

Agree with @Mummyof2andapig. The sonographer said it looks fine so why are you worried? You have no basis for this?

justchecking1 · 27/06/2021 14:59

How do you know it's large if she didn't measure? Was there a fetal pole? CRL measurement?

Yes indeed I have no formal training in sonography, but I have had 7 kids and have always had early private scans in each pregnancy. No yolk sac looked like this except in the pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. It doesn't take much to google what a large yolk sac looks like and what it can imply so please forgive me for being worried. The scan was a private one and therefore the scan tech is not allowed to provide me with certain information.

I do have an NHS scan booked in just over a week so hopefully they will shed some light regarding my concerns.

I’m sorry for your loss but you are not a sonographer, google is not a sonographer, google knows nothing of context or your measurements, google hasn’t seen your scan imaged in real time from different angles. Your sonographer sees hundreds of scans every year, you need to stop working yourself up because frankly you’re not a medical professional

Just updating .... unfortunately it has turned out as I suspected and baby's heartbeat stopped soon after the previous scan.

@Blxo94 Thank you for taking the time to respond and your kind words, it means a lot! I also felt that some replies were somewhat insensitive, but blamed it on my pregnancy hormones.Smile

@broodymamma
Just wanted to drop in and give you my love & lots of hugs.

I too think there were some unnecessarily blunt replies that quite frankly were not needed.

Take care OP ❤️
