Before, during and after a c-section

Hi,

I have finally been given my C-Section date for my 4th Baby.

Can anyone who's had a c-section let me know what happens before, during and after so I can be prepared.

Any tips or hints for my bag or whilst I'm at the hospital also really appreciated.

Agree with previous posters that it is OK to ask for help during recovery. You will see stories of super women being back to normal by the next day but everyone is different and it's fine to accept offers of help. Keep bending and lifting to a minimum (only where essential) for a few weeks because I didn't and had to call NHS 111 when my bleeding sharply increased. I also agree about remembering to take painkillers on time. I found that I felt OK on the painkillers but if I tried to miss one, I regretted it.

I've got loads of paracetamol here, would you recommend I stock up on ibuprofen as well?

I've got quite good at the injections now I've been on them since 14 weeks. So a few more weeks won't phase me.

I've got loads of support here, with my OH, 3 older kids and my parents are coming up for babysitting duty so will be around for the first few days to help out.
