Facial in second trimester

Is it okay to get a facial when you're pregnant? I'll be 20 weeks on Tuesday and have a facial on Thursday that was a gift.

I've been researching proper pregnancy massages before booking one and mentioned it to my mum, who (bless her), booked me a luxury facial. The venue is shut for the weekend now, though I've emailed them to ask if it's safe, but I just wanted your opinions and experiences on if you would have one. Is there anything I should know to avoid? Or just sack it off completely? I feel a bit bad, it was such a lovely thought from her!

I know it sounds silly, but I'm a FTM after having a miscarriage in December so I'm overthinking EVERYTHING Blush

I was consultant led and had loads of massages and facials, the doctor was fine with it - I say go for it. Just make sure that they know you're pregnant and confirm they won't use any retinoids.

I’m also consultant led, having lost my premature son last year. I’ve steered clear of facials but I think wise that you’ve asked the venue and they should (hopefully) be able to tell you what is suitable and what is not.

I would also get a list of the products they will use and do the research myself as advice can go out of date..

Also forgot to mention it’s not just retinoids you have to steer clear of, things like arbutin, salicylic acid etc are a no no In pregnant
