Hello everyone,

Just looking for a bit of reassurance really. Baby was due yesterday and i did have some very light tightenings around my belly and some period like cramps and then nothing at all last night and today. I'm going to be offered a membrame sweep tomorrow but feel a bit uncomfortable about it and not sure if it will help?
I've tried eating curry and dates, long walks, buying baby things and still nothing apart from her shuffles and kicks. The wait is very frustrating! Is this all a normal part of the labour process?

Thanks for reading xx

I had three sweeps in total, and the third one did help to kickstart labour for me and helped me avoid being induced. It didn't hurt me and just felt like she was having a good rummage around! Lol! I did spot a bit afterwards, which is normal, so I'd suggest wearing a pad.

After my third sweep I went for a long walk and then a nice pub lunch with my husband. Do what you can to help get the oxytocin flowing!

Sex, sex, and some more sex Grin

Think I read somewhere that for dates to work you should've been eating something like 6 a day from week 36? It's on my list of things to try if I need it although I really want to go at least a week over my due date!

Yup all normal!
Don't think anything actually speeds up labour.
Try to rest and enjoy your last days of peace 😉
As mentioned above, try sex if you can...
Had a similar experience. Had 2 sweeps after 40 weeks (good experiences) and gave birth at 41w2 the morning before induction day.
I know how frustrating it can be but baby will come when they are ready!
