Gestational sac smaller than foetus in 2 days

Hi,

I went for an early scan today, and the gestational age of the sac is two days behind GA of fetus. However, while the GA according to my LMP is 8 weeks 2 days, fetus measured 8 weeks 5 days - great for me - but the gestational sac measured 8 weeks 3 days (still a day ahead of LMP).

Have you experienced this? Is there a cause of concern? I had a miscarriage a few months ago, so Im super nervous about any complications.
Thank you

One of my twins had a very very small gestational sac between 6-8 weeks - it measured over a week smaller than the baby.

I read that drinking lots of water might help so drank loads and loads and the sac was much bigger by 10 weeks and there were no further concerns

There is a risk of miscarriage but it's only really where there is only a few mm (can't remember the exact number but I think less than 10mm) between the sac size and baby

Thank you for sharing your experience :)
I’m drinking a lot of water - hoping for the best

Hi, were you told that this was an issue by the sonographer or are you just concerned having heard the measurements?
