Potential fathers

Unfortunately I’m in a mess with two potential fathers and I need help to piece things together.
LMP
18/03-21/03
14/04-18/04
I had heavy bleeding on 29/04 and a emergency smear and examination on 04/05 what resulted in heavy bleeding.
I was due on 15/05 and done a pregnancy test 14/05 digital clear blue (2-3weeks)
I’ve had a private scan and internal scan.
Today Gestational age 11 weeks 2 days
Intercourse dates:
27/03
13/04
PLEASE BE KIND
help me piece this together.

It has to be the later date, the gestational age suggests you ovulated around the 21/04. And could've conceived from sex up to a week before.

Hello, going by gestational age I’d say the 13/04 is the father but I’m no expert - your midwife would probably be able to answer with more certainty. ( No judgement at all from me by the way - nothing you should feel ashamed of).

That said, if at a subsequent scan they change your dates to early then it could be either 🤷‍♀️

Hi, ni judgement here. Have you had a sexual partner since your last period on 14 / 04? Gestational age is usually taken from date of LMP, which would be 10 weeks 2 days from then, so would have been conceived after your LMP xx

If not then 13/4 would be most likely

I had my LMP on the 21/03, and I am 14+2 currently so it would be the second one

Because I’ve had bleeding throughout my midwife is going by my scans and not my LMP she’s actually changed the date of my periods on paper to match with scans

If you conceived when you had sex on the April one you'd be 12+4 so Def that one. You'll have ovulated a little after at a guess bad of course it can always be a day or so early at this size. Hope that's the guy you're hoping for

Unfortunately I was hoping for the earlier one but it seems that is definitely not a possibility regardless I’m on my own but I was hoping it would be the earlier date 😔

Yes I understand it just doesn’t make sense to me because on the 13/04 I bled and then bled continuously until the 18/04 but does it add up the same by crown to rump measurements and not by my LMP because that’s all there going by at the moment

You would be 12 weeks 5 days or thereabouts if you conceived by the first man. If it was the second you’d be around 10 weeks 3 days. So the fact your measuring 11 weeks 2 days means to my mind it’s not cut and dried.

I thought the scan date was basically the age of the baby. The two weeks was only factored in when your going from last menstrual period.

And because I have problems with my cervix I’m expected to bleed during the hormone change in pregnancy so my bleed in April may not have been a actual period if going by my last period in March I should be 12 weeks now and that makes more sense to me?

I’m 14weeks and my period started on 21/03 - if you had conceived with the first I’d have thought you’d have been the same gestation as me.

Sorry to through a spanner in the works ultrasound has a margin of error of upto 5 days either way. So could be either really. There’s only one way is the have a dna test once babies born. You can have prenatal dna test but I think they are about £500-800.

I know it’s so frustrating if I go by my periods calculators online are saying different by 1-2weeks different I know a dna test is the easiest way to find out but because I’m not with either and one was my partner of 3 years it’s turned quite bitter towards me and I can’t put myself through that right now

Yes I agree but some are depending if they are adding the 2 weeks on or not (conception/implantation) period

@justanotherneighinparadise this is why I’m so confused because I don’t know if it’s 11 weeks 2 days or (+the2weeks) 13 weeks 2 days

I’m no help just wanted to say -
My daughter measured exactly 1 week ahead the whole pregnancy.
This pregnancy has always been behind (max it got up to was 1 week- although it looks like it is starting to catch up now)

I have super regular periods and there is still such a discrepancy with dates on ultrasounds

It would be very strange for a scan or midwife or consultant to use any dates that didn't include the 2 "blank" weeks between LMP and conception.

If the scan estimates 11+2, then they think the baby was conceived 9+2 ago. That'd be around the 21st April. Everything is likely to be out by a few days, and conception could take place up to 5-7 days after sex, depending on when you ovulate, but it is far far more likely that you conceived following your April inter course than March intercourse.

What are things like with the other guy? If you only had sex with two guys, who only need one of them to do the test

So I was Googling again and came up with this site unplannedparenthood.org/how-to-calculate-conception-date-from-ultrasound/

Now they say to work out the gestational when from an ultrasound you need to take two weeks off the date given. So 11 weeks two days would be 9 weeks two days which would fit more with the second date of conception.

If it were me I would talk to my midwife and explain you have two possible fathers in the mix. Give her all the details and see if she thinks there’s a more likely contender. She might say the window is to small to call it and you will need to have the child tested to be sure. Personally I think it’s the 13/04 man 🤞
