Negative test period late

Hi there,

I am new to mumsnet and just looking for some advice or help.

I am TTC and my period is late by 7 days. I have never had a late period. My cycle is always 28-29 days and the odd time it might go to 30 but that wouldn’t be often.

I was experiencing some early pregnancy symptoms and decided to take a test but it was negative. I then experienced a dull achy pain on my left side and taught it might be my period starting but it still hadn’t. I went to the hospital and then done bloods and an ultrasound and both showed negative signs of pregnancy. My last period was the 19th May.

Could it be still to soon to show?

They did your bloods and an ultrasound just because your period is a week late??

No, they done them because I am in a lot of pain. I suffer with Endometriosis and In the past have had ovarian cysts so they wanted to rule this out.

Sorry to hear that OP. As much as I want to say yes - bloods are very accurate.

Hi shakirachante, my period never came for 3 months after this. I attended the fertility clinic and as part of the process they tested my tubes, nothing seemed blocked but they did diagnose me with PCO’s and told me this could have been the reason for the missed periods. I got pregnant this same month after having my tubes tested in the October but sadly lost the baby and had my second miscarriage in January 2022 but I’m now 30 weeks pregnant and all is going well. @Unicorn101 Aww really sorry to hear that xx but really happy for you and your rainbow baby 🌈 I was pregnant a few years ago and all miscarried, I do have pcos but it’s never really effected my ovulation and periods I have put a little bit of weight on but nothing major maybe that’s had an effect, I’m 7 days late now and just negative test had a blood test incase i may have ovulated later hopefully its nothing serious, I’m 30 so I’m panicking now that my clocks ticking and getting worried but fingers crossed xx have a beautiful life with your little one!!
