Hi,

I'm new to mumsnet!

I'm 10+4 days and my pregnancy symptoms have subsided in the last few days. Boobs not feeling as sore, nausea seems to have also disappeared.

I've had 3 previous MC, so really anxious.
We had an early scan at 8 weeks and a heartbeat was found!

My husband said we should book a private scan for the weekend. However my 12 week scan is next Friday. Am I crazy to get a scan?

Hello, I did this yesterday as my symptoms have eased off too. All was well and baby is fine. It was worth the peace of mind for me. I am 10+3 x

Same happened to me, saw HB at 7w though not 8. Woke up 11 weeks with blood and ended in MC. But I don't think the symptoms going was a huge part of that, I think it's normal for symptoms to ease/change/ come and go. Thanks

I had the same thing happen at around 9 weeks, almost all my symptoms vanished quickly. I'd had scans at 7 & 8 weeks & seen a hb but was still terrified. I ended up having another scan as I had some spotting & baby was happily jumping about. I'm now almost 19 weeks & all is well. If having a private scan would set your mind at rest I'd say go for it!

Hi, I’m in the same boat. Had an early scan at 7+5, heard the heartbeat and all looked good. I’m now over 10 weeks but the last week my nausea and tiredness has more or less completely gone. It’s sent my anxiety through the roof and I’m convinced it’s going to be a mmc. My nhs scan isn’t until im over 13 weeks so I’ve booked a scan for Monday. The not knowing and worrying is unbearable

I've had both outcomes from this.

In my pregnancy with my oldest DC, pretty much all my symptoms disappeared in my 7th week. I'd had a miscarriage previously so was an absolute wreck. My GP agreed to do bloods and found my HCG levels were rising but hadn't doubled in 48 hours so arranged an emergency scan for me at 8w1d and baby was there happy as anything. A couple of days later my symptoms came back with a vengeance and baby is now 11!

In my most recent pregnancy, however, I had a similar thing. Had a great early scan at 6 weeks. I'd felt very sicky and had food cravings and aversions from about 5/6 weeks which all stopped at exactly 8 weeks. Had a scan a week later and unfortunately there was no heartbeat and baby was measuring 8w4d.

For me, symptoms have never been a great indicator of how well things are going tbh. I've had pregnancies with strong symptoms that haven't worked out and others, like with my second DC where I wasn't sick once and he's now 9!

I'd say a scan is definitely worth the peace of mind. I hope it goes well for you.
