Hi,
I’m currently 14 weeks+4.
I have horrible, crushing nausea and sickness from week 5. I’ve been to my gp and tried quite a few medications to try and control the nausea but nothing seems to work past a day or two.
I’m also EHE my 7 year old due to bullying in her last school.
I have no energy and can barely manage any food.
I’m getting to the point of seriously considering a termination as I can’t keep going feeling like I am now.
Just looking for any advise please.

I was the same with the nausea and sickness, it was relentless.
I know a lot of people say it will disappear at 12 weeks....it doesn't for everyone but mine went completely at 19 weeks and I've had the easiest pregnancy since then! Could be the case for you too

Have you spoken to PSS charity? Pregnancy sickness support. They're amazing and full of resources. I have HG and you have to keep going back to get more, different drugs. You have to take them like clockwork. I take ondansetron x 3 per day and cyclizine x 3 per day. Most women who consider a termination get seen by obstetricians and the absolute last resort before termination is a treatment involving steroids. There are lots of options. Definitely call PSS. They're amazing. Also, there's a chat called Hyperemesis Support in pregnancy thread and we are all super supportive and experienced in this area. We totally understand you, you will not be judged. We have all had these thoughts

What's med have you been given. In my experience. ,12 years ago gp was useless. I ended up in hospital, first on cycladine which worked for a while and then on steriods. I know exactly how you feel.,but don't give up hope.,go to hospital if gp cannot/will not help.

I don't know what you have tried so far but does ODANESTRON sound familiar?

Musicmonday · 23/06/2021 21:15

Thank you. I’ve been in touch with PSS on two occasions and they were helpful.
I’m currently on 3x czycline a day for 5 days and metoclopramide 3 x a day for 5 days. I’ve been taking them like that for just over two weeks and the past 3 days I’ve felt awful. Is it ok to ring my midwife tomorrow or just ring the hospital?

You are suffering.

You owe it to yourself to be on that phone first thing tomorrow.

bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/ondansetron.html

There is a safety warning in that document about use before 12 weeks but even then risks/benefit should be taken into account.

Hope you feel better soon

ondansetron was the only thing that worked for me with my first pregnancy and lots of drips in hospital!! I hear you. I got pregnant last summer and it ended in a termination as I was bed ridden for 3 weeks, literally could not move and had a 1 year old running around too, thank god for my partner is all I can say.
I think if I desperately wanted another child I might of been able to hold out but HG lasted till 32 weeks with my first and I was near suicidal by then so not sure I could ever do that again tbh.
I know that probably doesn't help but what ever decision you make there's no shame at all.

timeisnotaline · 24/06/2021 04:15

If you’ve only used cyclizine and metaclopramide definitely go back. Promethazine is another one (antihistamine I think) and ondansetron is amazing, insist on it!

Yuppie20 do you mind me asking how far along you were?
