Can anyone whose had/having twins advise me on what scans they were given by the NHS?

Thank you

This was some time ago for me (4 years) but I had the usual 12 and 20 week scans plus after 24 weeks a scan every few weeks too. Sorry I can’t be much more precise! Congrats. Having twins is a lot of fun!

I had scans every 4 weeks after the dating scan with our fraternal twins. A combination of detailed scans in the ultrasound department and the midwife checking hearts on the smaller portable one they have. 1st scan was an epau one a bit over 7wk and one on day of delivery to check position too. Ours were classed lower risk.
If you have higher risk ones or develop problems they will scan you more often.

I honestly can’t remember. I am shocked by this I think we had one extra nhs one and we found out it was twins because we had a private early scan, as my original scan was quite late and I was impatient for reassurance

Depends if they are fraternal or not. If fraternal, you will be seen every four weeks unless high risk. I was seen twice a week for scans with my consultant from 16-34 weeks because of complications and also had 3 cardiac scans and an mri in that time.
