When did you "pop"?

Hi all!

Just wondering how many weeks you were when your bump first "popped"? I'm 17 weeks and still don't really have a bump! Not sure if I should be worried or if baby is just hiding.

This is my first and I've been told it takes longer to show first time round!

Thanks.

I didn’t show till about 23 week with my first but I was quite slim and started to just look a bit chubby! I think it depends on your build a bit?

mumof23188 · 23/06/2021 11:59

I had a noticeable bump around 23 weeks. This is my 3rd baby.

Ftumch · 23/06/2021 12:01

I started showing at 20 weeks, just looked a bit bloated before that 😂 This is my second baby with a very big age gap, I am much smaller than I was with my first.

Toastedsesame · 23/06/2021 12:04

19 weeks with my first. Around 16 weeks with second.

Garman · 23/06/2021 12:04

No need to be worried at all, 17 weeks would be quite early to be showing on a first pregnancy. I didn't show with my first until 28-30 weeks. Am expecting dc3 now and it's barely noticeable to others at 21 weeks.

Chelyanne · 23/06/2021 12:14

1st not until after 20wk. Earlier with others, especially our twins 16wk I had quite a bump.
On my 6th baby (5th successful pregnancy) and felt my abs pop at 15wk, people started to say I was showing from then. I still felt like I looked more podgey than pregnant until 24wk. Pretty big now at 32wk, baby was on the 97th centile for growth when I had a scan earlier this week.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 23/06/2021 12:16

Looking at photos I looked a bit bloated around 20 weeks and then suddenly had a proper bump about 28 weeks, although it was football up top in appearance, I didn't look "actually" pregnant until 32 weeks and then ds arrived at 37, so didn't look pregnant for long which was disappointing haha

yepitsmey · 23/06/2021 12:53

23-24 weeks.

Coco899 · 23/06/2021 12:53

Ok this makes me feel so much better haha 😅 thanks so much everyone. I have nothing to worry about by the sounds of it! I'm a slim build so was expecting to show but clearly that's not how it works 😂 ❤️

It's just very annoying when people ask "where's your bump" not really much we can do about it!!

I’m 20 weeks now and still waiting for a bump. Below my belly button is definitely pushed out a bit and hard to the touch but unless I was wearing a skin-tight dress no-one would suspect a thing!

I live in a country where women have a ton of pressure to be thin so when I tell people I’m pregnant I get a lot of ‘compliments’ about how flat my stomach still is 🤔

ApplePie86 · 23/06/2021 14:33

I'm 13 weeks with my first and very much hoping I don't show until 20 weeks (we're not telling anyone til after 20 week scan). I'm also getting married at 15W3D. I have a bit of a podgy tummy and already will have to breathe in when wearing the dress but really can't put any weight on in next 2 weeks...doesn't help that all I really want to eat is cheesy pasta 🙈

Fourleafclover93 · 23/06/2021 14:46

I'm pregnant with my first and only got a bump at 24/25 weeks. I'm a size 10/12 if thats relevant.

I agree its so annoying people kept asking where I was hiding the baby and was I sure it was in there. Even if I wear a loose/baggy top now people don't always notice im pregnant

CupOfTPlease · 23/06/2021 14:51

About 17 weeks but I did end up having quite a big bump.

spagino21 · 23/06/2021 15:28

This is my first pregnancy and I feel like my bump popped when I hit 14 weeks - me, my husband and family/friends were shocked I was showing so soon. I am petite though (only 5ft 3 and a size 4/6) so I guess there was nowhere for it to go but out!

Iris2020 · 23/06/2021 15:33

I didn't really "pop" as much as become larger and larger from 12 weeks onwards... I still look more overweight than pregnant (I was a tall size 12).

bigbeatmanifesto · 23/06/2021 15:41

First baby around 26 weeks
Second baby around 18-20 weeks
Third baby around 10-12 weeks

RachShad · 23/06/2021 15:53

My bump only really popped around 30 weeks haha, took soooo long! For the majority of time I just looked bloated. I'm nearly 37 weeks now and still don't have a huge bump actually. People always tell me I'm tiny! Think it depends on the person/their build etc

GummyBear91 · 23/06/2021 16:06

I think it depends on your body size. I had a tiny little bump from 12w but it became pretty obvious pretty quickly. By 14w there was no denying I was pregnant.

I am a slim build, 5ft 5in and all leg. My body is short so baby had nowhere to hide! I only found out I had a short body when my best friend made my wedding dress and she had to cut loads of the bodice out!

Friendofcheese · 23/06/2021 18:34

13 weeks here and there’s no hiding it now! It’s my first too so I’m surprised by how big I’m looking. I do think a lot of it is bloat but there’s definitely no mistaking it’s a pregnant belly.
I’m going to be huge aren’t i? Grin

Mammyofasuperbaby · 23/06/2021 18:41

With my first I was showing at 12 weeks but like a pp I have a very short torso and I'm only 4ft11 so baby has literally no where to go. I did however only have a smallish bump at 33 weeks when he was born.
I showed at about 8 weeks with my 3rd but sadly lost that baby 2 weeks later but I continued to grow until 15 weeks when they were born and I showed at around 10 weeks with my last baby but the bloat was unreal so it really just depends on a few different factors but as long as baby is happy and healthy it doesn't really matter

summerhillgang · 23/06/2021 19:15

About 16 weeks

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 23/06/2021 19:18

30 weeks ish?! Was constantly told I was small. He was born a healthy 7lb 4!

Rosesareyellow · 23/06/2021 19:41

About 18 weeks.
