When did it stop for you? Feeling really fed up! Need a bit of hope to cling on to.... currently 8 weeks and so scared of it getting any worse than it currently is!

It just sort of fades away until you realise you don’t feel quite so hideous anymore. I think I felt quite a bit better by 12 weeks in my pregnancies but it was a gradual thing rather than it just going away overnight.

8 weeks is peak feeling shite time in my experience. Hang in there and do whatever makes you feel better. If you’re living on Haribo / dry crackers / lucozade whatever it is, just do it! It does pass even though it feels like you’ll never feel normal again.

Congratulations Flowers

@hollie29x have you figured out what makes you feel better? For me it was never having an empty stomach, but not eating loads either. So a constant graze basically. Fruity sweets took the sicky taste away. Lots of sleep and water. It will pass but I know it feels like forever right now x

Aww i feel for you op, i'm 30 weeks now but f**k those early days are tough. I agree with PP i think 8ish weeks is about peak, i think it gradually started to get better from about 10 weeks

I thought Pepsi Max was my saving Grace. Sipping it would allow me to burp which would give me some relief but now the thought it makes me want to heave! Was up from 1am-4am last night just waiting to be sick but it never happened. Exhausted today! The days feel so long 😞

8w-11w for me!
Mint imperials helped me

pileapetals · 23/06/2021 22:00

5w-9w were the worst for me but it really does vary greatly from person to person.

I'd tried all sorts of remedies, run through endless cups of fresh ginger tea, crackers, etc. but the thing that made the world's difference in the end was an acupressure wristband. It took me from 5 rounds of vomiting in a single morning to just one vomit for the whole day the very next day. I wore it non-stop (unless I was taking a shower) and it was a relief to get the nausea under control.

Not to say it was a magic cure-all, but it worked the best out of everything (including snacking constantly/avoiding big meals) I'd tried and is very cheap to buy online. Give it a go and good luck!

Mine this time peaked at 10-11 weeks and now at 13 seems to be subsiding pretty rapidly (just last few days). I didn’t have it so bad last time so I can’t remember with my first pregnancy. It sucks, hang in there!

10+6 and things are definitely improving & my appetite is slowing returning !!!

Mine started increasing from week 7, got really bad from week 9 onwards. Week 18 now and much better although still sick first thing in the morning if I don't eat quickly enough

My savings grace was plain food mostly biscuits and Crackers and weak squash. Never having an empty stomach.. but not being able to eat much in one go meant I was pretty much living off biscuits and Crackers every 30mins or so. Had no appetite and so many food adversions it was hard eating any types of dinners to start with and the smells just didnt help either.

Appetite is now back and food adversions have lessened so managing to eat much more and the sickness is only literally first thing in the morning when my stomach is empty. So doing much better and this is much easier to cope with. A biscuit on bedside table for as soon as I wake up seems to do the trick for me to get down and have a proper breakfast :)

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 09:14

Mine started around 8 weeks with nausea, and then into week 9 it got a lot worse, could barely keep anything down, and was constantly being sick, same into week 10. I am now in week 11 and am slowly getting better I hope . I was only sick once yesterday, which is an improvement, and have been able to slowly introduce certain foods and drink back, and managing to keep them down - the nausea gave me a shit ton of food and drink aversions! Even thinking about the food/drink made me gag.

I believe for most people, it tends to get better between 12-14 as you come out of 1st trimester and go into the second. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this, so fed up haha!!

Hope it is getting better for you Flowers. When it has been really bad, some things that have helped me: sipping Original Lucozade throughout the day, chewing gum, sipping water not gulping it, eating little and often rather than 3 meals a day. Ginger biscuits helped me to begin with, but then my brain just associated them with sickness and they ended up being one of the things that made me sick haha!

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 09:15

Oh and have breakfast as soon as you wake up!! I find if I get ready and showered etc before eating in the morning, I am more likely to be sick. Whereas when I eat straight away, I feel fine for the majority of the morning.

Eased a lot at about 9.5 weeks, and my Flo app said at ten weeks a lot of people should feel better and have symptoms subside. This coincides with placenta taking over I think. I still get nausea in the evenings but a lot of the food aversions have gone so I can eat more varied foods now and a bit healthier

Also I had acupuncture throughout my pregnancy (had fertility acupuncture and carried on) and she did a lot of points for nausea and reflux. She treats people with HG - mine was never too awful I felt ill but never actually threw up. So that may have helped a lot also
