We're due our first baby in September and I'm just thinking of baby sleeping. Once baby is put down to sleep how do you cover them? Do you swaddle them? Blanket? Sleeping bag?

Either a cellular blanket or a sleeping bag. It depends on the temperature.

Swaddled in cellular blanket :)

Sleeping bags are great and easy, they usually have a minimum weight limit so best to check. Both my babies were too small for a sleeping bag for the first couple of weeks so I used a blanket. I think the weight was 8lb 10 the bag I had from Sainsbury's but they were 8.7 and 8.3 born so didn't have to wait too long before using

Most sleeping bags that are labelled 0-6 months don’t actually fit baby until they are 10lbs-ish… (they say on the labels).
I didn’t trust myself with swaddling or blankets so used these last time and plan to use them again: www.tommeetippee.com/en-gb/product/summer-3-9-month-snuggle-wash-wear-twin-pack?gclid=Cj0KCQjwlMaGBhD3ARIsAPvWd6gyAsKw4evQtF6d8q-UlS8bXCL3q2nXB2WbaWc2HJdh0VB5sfR4_fsaAlIWEALw_wcB

This is a good point. I had forgot this as I had huge babies.

You can put them down? 😭😂

In all seriousness, we used one of those extra large muslins and used that to swaddle. I don't think she fit into the sleeping bag until maybe 8 weeks or so. At which point we stopped swaddling and got her used to having her arms out.

Take a cellular blanket to the hospital, the midwives will show you a good swaddle ☺️
