Negative pregnancy tests 2 weeks late

I’m 13 days late on my period, if I was somehow pregnant I’d be about 10 weeks but I don’t feel this is very likely as I did have a bit of a period at the end of April however it could have potentially been implantation bleeding for all I know. I feel like surely if I was 10 weeks pregnant it would have showed up on a test by now? I’ve never been this late before so I’m a bit concerned and have booked an appointment at the doctors. Is it possible I’m pregnant or what do you think could be causing this?

It's extremely unlikely you're pregnant if you've had a negative test at this point and it's perfectly normal to miss a period or have a lighter one sometimes. I'd try not to worry and just wait to see if your next period turns up when you would expect it. If that one doesn't it might be worth contacting your GP.

I never had a positive test with DS1 when I tested at home, tested when I'd have been around 9weeks and nothing. (I have PCOS so was difficult to pinpoint periods). Had blood test for iron levels as I was tired. Dr checked for pregnancy as well as there was a very faint line when they tested at Dr surgery, long story short after a scan turns out I was 23 weeks pregnant. Can happen, but isn't common. So fingers crossed for you!

@Titch1993 did you do more than one home pregnancy test? I’ve done about 6 all together but one of them had the faintest line ever and the others were all negative

@MGee123 yes I imagine you’re right, it’s just I’m so confused because I’ve never been this late and my stomachs bloated but feels solid so it’s just messing with my head

Have you had your covid jab since your last period? I had mine and it delayed my period by about a fortnight. Anecdotally friends have reported similar strange happenings but all fine the next month!

SoupDragon · 22/06/2021 08:01

Yes, lots of posters have reported missing periods after their Covid jab.

How do you make it 10 weeks? If you have a 4ish week cycle and are 13 days late you would be 6 weeks. Have you already skipped a period?

Titch1993 · 22/06/2021 08:26

@Nat2001
Yeah I did loads (was a bit obssessed!) It also depends when I tested too I think, DS2 never got a positive in morning, always in afternoon and that was faint for a good few weeks, finally got a strong positive in afternoon at around 8 weeks with him (had an early scan at 7weeks to check all was OK as had bleeding).
Come to think of it DS1 faint positive would have been afternoon too.
If you've had a faint line I would definitely see if you can arrange to talk to a Dr, even if it's not pregnancy it could also be something like PCOS (which symptoms can be bloating, missed periods etc). Always worth checking IMO.

Hi ladies!
Nat2001 I’m just wondering what happened regarding your situation?
I’m in a similar one.
I am 8 days late, never ever had a late or missed period!
I have done 4 tests- I did one last sat, within the 10 minutes it was negative. I looked at it a while later and there was the faintest line where the positive would show. I put this down to an evap line.
I then did a digital clear blue test on the Monday. Came up ‘Not pregnant’.
By Tuesday my period still hadn’t come so did another test! Within the 10 minutes it showed negative. I put it in my bag, headed home from work and pulled it out at home only to see a dark, blue line forming where the positive mark is. (This would have been about 40 minutes after I took the test). This line got darker. Again, I’m putting it down to an evap line as it was after the time frame.
Friday comes and still not period so I do another test and it is clearly negative.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I am so confused!
It’s strange as the one month we weren't as careful (twice around ovulation days!) my period is late. Is that a coincidence?
Any help or advice would be great as I am so confused what is going on right now!

@Confusedlady101 it turned out I wasn’t pregnant my period was just messed up. I think it was caused by stress. I think chances are you’re probably not pregnant too, because at the time, you start to convince yourself pregnancy tests are wrong sometimes but probably aren’t when you get to that point. And sorry I’ve only just seen you’re reply, hoping everything is okay now x
