I know you will all probably find me ridiculous but looking at baby products online and I'm just worrying that they will all have dangerous chemicals in I know they are designed for babys but try telling my head that. Plus little things like my mum telling me not to get a baby bath and to wash baby in the sink that gives me anxiety the thought of that I guess its a form of ocd do I need to sort this out before baby is born or is it natural to feel this way ? Kind of very particular abt every little thing.. its driving me insane :(

Probably best not to give yourself a diagnosis of OCD but definitely speak to your midwife about your anxiety around these things.

I have anxiety and OCD. Don't diagnose yourself and it can be perfectly normal in pregnancy to worry about the slightest thing.

We used a baby bath seat.

If you're worried about chemicals then buy from well known baby brands not internet cheapies off Amazon or eBay.

Things like a rocker chair. Our seat came off to be washed. Clothes we also washed before DS was born.

OCD is characterised by intrusive thoughts.

It’s normal to have worries and anxieties and for them to pass. If they become that the thoughts are beginning to interfere with your life and cause you distress then it’s time to seek help from your GP.

All baby products in the UK are well regulated. If you’re very worried, lots of things have reviews from people who have used them too.

Why is your mum telling you not to get a baby bath? It’s much easier to use a baby bath in my experience, but I had a big baby!
