10 weeks & so anxious

I'm 10 weeks + 2
We had a scan at 7+1, and a scan at 9+4, all well and okay, saw the heartbeat both times. Next scan is when I'll be 12+5,
Today the overwhelming anxiety has hit me hard again.
I'm just so worried about this next scan, worried something will be wrong etc.
.
Any tips on handling this and distracting myself? Just want the next 2 weeks to fly by without all of this horrific panic.
Thanks!

I have my 12 week scan coming up and haven’t had any previous scans so I know how you feel. Take a look at the odds of MC at the stage you’re at - it’s slim to none. From hearing and seeing the heartbeat, the likelihood is even less! You have about a 1-2% chance of MC, which means there’s an overwhelming 98-99% chance you’ll carry the baby to full term :) just try and relax and put it into perspective - you only see the bad/difficult/horror stories on Mumsnet because people need support. You don’t hear of the hundreds of thousands of healthy pregnancies because nobody talks about them on here. Also, only 1 in 5 women will miscarry at some point, meaning you have an 80% chance of not miscarrying to begin with.

Congratulations!
Try and occupy yourself as much as you can!
Easier said than done I know, are you busy with work?
Meet family, friends.
Read a book.
Organise your house.
Walks.
Start a new series.
If you feel overwhelmed all of a sudden get out the house, even if you just go for a walk round local shops/supermarket it'll distract your mind.

Very normal to feel like this before a 12w scan regardless of how many private scans you have. I think I had 4 before my 12w scan 🙈

I would speak with your midwife or GP fairly urgently as it sounds like you are really struggling. Meaning this gently, going for all these scans will not help - it only tells you how things are there and then. An hour later you're back to square one wondering if things are okay, as the scan can't tell you what will happen in the future. I would seek some professional support now to try and make your pregnancy journey easier. Best of luck. As pp says, the overwhelming likelihood at this point is you will have a healthy pregnancy 👍😀
