Positive & negative pregnancy test - am I pregnant

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could shed some light onto my situation........
I took a CB digital pregnancy test which came back positive 1-2 weeks, went to the docs and their test came back negative. I had an ultrasound scan and no sac was seen but there was thickening of my uterus. I'm still none the wiser and this waiting game is killing me. Has anyone experienced this before? if so what has been the outcomes.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 33, this would be my 2nd pregnancy, my 1st unfortunately ended in miscarriage so this is playing on my mind a lot as you can imagine.

Am I pregnant or not? is it a chemical pregnancy? or is it just too early? could my positive text be wrong?

Have they checked that it is not an ectopic pregnancy? Are you due to go back for another scan in a week or so?

Hi, thank you for the response. No they haven't which is something I found strange because I do have some pregnancy symptoms ie. sore tender breasts and nipples, infact this was one of the first symptoms I had, I am back on Tuesday as this was my initial appointment following my home pregnancy positive test so im keeping the appointment and going back. I just don't understand a positive followed by a negative. the CB digital test are usually ok arnt they? Could it have been faulty?

I would be pushing for another scan if they are saying your womb lining is thickened, but you haven't had a period. They need to check your ovaries and fallopian tubes to make sure that there is not an ectopic pregnancy.

It is also possible that the test they used wasn't as sensitive as the CB so maybe it didn't detect enough HCG. They could do a blood test to check HCG levels.

Im back at the doctors tomorrow morning so hopefully know more then. Thank you

Hi @TheDaydreamBelievers i have done 4 tests now, 2 positive 2 negatives, mind in blown at the moment. I'm back at the docs tomorrow so hopefully that will help bring some clarity

I did literally 10 tests in a week and got faint positives, very faint positives, 2 negatives followed by 2 very clear positives. The best early tests for me were first response and then when I had actually missed my period clear blue.
Lots of people saying superdrug tests were best yet these were the ones that came back negative both times 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been spotting out of periods which isn’t normal for me. The blood is dark red / brown and not enough to fill a pad / tampon. Only when I wipe and spots on underwear. I’ve been experiencing lower back pain and abdominal pain along with headache and little nausea.
So for this reason I’ve took a test although my period isn’t due for another 2 weeks yet.

I tested first thing & with first morning wee.
A faint line appeared by the time I had replaced the cap and put on the side but I left it for the remaining time & returned.

What do you guys think ?
