Hello everyone am wondering if I should call the maternity unit at my hospital, but don’t want to massively overreact.
Have had headaches on and off for a week or so. Paracetamol doesn’t make a huge amount of difference. Today have really bad one, has got worse throughout the day. Have drunk loads of water.
I also just don’t feel well, upset stomach. Throat feels tight and funny taste in my mouth. I’m in my late 30s but no other risk factors for preeclampsia, second pregnancy and first one was straightforward. I don’t know what to do?

Slightly off topic but have you done a covid test? That's how mine started.

With pregnancy I take 5he view that if I am not sure and it doesn't feel right, I phone triage. They are there to tell me what is and isn't significant and will err on the side of caution generally.

If you're worried enough to post on here, then you should call the maternity unit or at least 111.

Give them a call, just to put your mind at rest 🙂 x

Get checked out to rule out preeclampsia. However with my 2nd pregnancy I too suffered with really bad headaches they were more like migraines, I didn’t want to take paracetamol so used a forehead stick. I suffered up until around 30 weeks.

I have severe hormonal headaches the kind that feels like my whole skull is pressured.
The only thing that helps me is drinking an electrolyte drink- like a sports drink.

Thanks for your advice. Rang maternity triage and they said as I didn’t have any other very worrying symptoms just to see how I am tomorrow, and if still bad for in for BP check. Thanks again!
