19 Weeks and Pains…is this normal?

Hi Ladies,

I’m currently 19 weeks. This week I’ve suddenly noticed random stabbing pains low in my abdomen and almost a dull ache around the cer is similar to period pain.

I’m not bleeding and all scans to date look normal. I’m not feeling any moment aside from one or two popping sensations and that is it.

I previously had an mc so the usual anxiety has well and truly kicked in. My 20 week scan is next week.

Is this normal? As silly as this sounds I’m not sure if this is maybe round ligament pain, lightning crotch or just because of growth or something sinister. But I was just surprised at how uncomfortable they are and I don’t trust my judgement. Ive asked my midwife but as im not bleeding and my scan is next week she’s not overly concerned. Just a born worrier 😂 Thank you xx

Hey I don't know if this will help. I am 13 weeks, I get similar pains, they sometimes take me back for a second as they are so sharp. My midwife also told me these were normal and to remember am cooking a baby Smile

Hey @Overtherainbow2021 I get your worry, completely normal.
I'm 20 weeks today and last week I was having AWFUL pains around my pubic bone and I was so worried I called my midwife. She called me in and did tests etc just to put my mind at ease, listened to heartbeat etc and explained that between 19-21 weeks your uterus pops out of your pelvis which can be painful for some women. It was really reassuring and after 2 days the pains have gone. I can feel baby a lot more now too so thinking she was right!
Try to stay positive x

I've had all sorts of pains since very early on. I'm now 31+1, but I remember how bad my pains were around 18-24 weeks. It almost felt like I had some sort of a growth spurt every few weeks and it was very painful for me. Abdominal pain, around pubic bone, sides, lower back. Went to be assessed a few times, was given codeine twice. I'd say these pains can be normal (I was just unlucky), but please go in to be checked every time you worry. Better to be sure. They should also test you for a potential urinary tract infection. Hope you will be feeling better soon!
